Tracey-Ann King - British Bodybuilder
Some Info about TRACEY-ANN:
Where and when were you born?
JAMAICA, 21 JANUARY 1975
I am a fun loving female bodybuilder, extremely weird mix of culture; Scottish, Spanish, Jamaican and a hit of Irish.
My mix speaks for itself, strength, stamina, shape, determination and can handle anything. I have been weight training for five years now, competing for two, placing quite well. In my younger days achieved a black belt in kickboxing, several awards for dancing and a few certificate in massages. (Studied massages along with self enhancement/awareness in Thailand for 6months). This was an experience.
So if you fancy the muscle of a stallion, the body of a god, the strength of a lion and the wildness of a cat then step into my world……….
What is your profession?
PERSONAL TRAINER/FEMALE COMPETITOR
Were you involved in sports or fitness prior to bodybuilding and how did you get started with weight training?
From the age of 5 years until about 21 years done kick boxing, got my black belt when I was 16 years of age, also a lot of commercial dance (specialised in salsa ). Got into weight training about 5 years ago, as a means to loose weight and tone up. Always loved muscle as a matter of fact, I entered my first weights room at the age of 6 years old. I remembered jumping for the lats pull down, lets just say it came off straight off into my forehead, giving me an extra eye.
Was it a goal for you to compete in bodybuilding competitions right from the beginning or was it something that grew in your mind as time went on and you saw the progress in your body?
In the gym I use to train firstly, there were many other guys and girls competing, so I would say straight away, I had an Image of how I wanted to look (big shoulders, broad back, tiny waist and big legs and the arms chest to go with it).
Can you give me your competition history?
Stars of Tomorrow October 2007 2nd place
British Championship October 2008 6th place
Miss Hercules November 2008 1st place
British Championship October 2009 3rd pace
Miss Hercules October 2009 2nd place
Which contest has been your biggest success; which has had the most meaning to you?
As far as living my dream it was stars of tomorrow 2007, because I had dreamt of been on that stage for so long, coming from been called (a baby wale), but in regards to achieving the shape/body I want and making an impact in the bodybuilding world it has to be end of last year British championship 2009. This was when I was the talk, and girls that had been competing for years prior to me and wiped the floor with me before, had to step back and looked in amazement. I was no longer just a follower, I was becoming a leader.
Please tell me something about your training routine (ie: how many days per week / training split /cardio, etc.)
On average I train five days a week, focusing on bringing out my weekness.
1 Quads only
2 Chest and arms together,
3 Back only
4 Hams only
5 Shoulders only
My legs grow fast, so I do 30mins 4-5 times and where my weight training is concerned for legs - high reps and lots of supersets.
What is your favourite exercise in the gym and which one you don’t like so much?
I have no favourite, I love training, so what it takes for me to be the best I intend to do.
Which body part is your best in your opinion?
Back and Quads
If you don’t mind would you give me some stats (best lifts and some body measurements)?

What do you enjoy about training for competition....what do you enjoy about the 'off season'?
One of the things I enjoy about training for a competition is seeing my body transforming, watching my muscle grow, also pushing myself beyond failure. The word CANT does not exist for me. AND THEN OFF SEASON I love feeling powerful, lifting heavy (but always with correct form), putting on muscle not just water/fat weight, always like to see what I’m working with.
Please describe a typical day in the life of Tracey Ann King.
Wake up, get my boys up and sorted, we get ready, eat and all head out. Them; to school, myself off to the gym. During the day I teach, eat train and eat some more, oh yeah squeeze in some sleep. Back at home at night sort boys out but to be honest they sort themselves out, I have two extremely helpful boys, loved them to bits. Could not do this without there support.
Please tell me about what you do when you don’t work out (hobbies, what do you do to relax?, etc.)
I enjoy quad bike riding with my two boys (Taijon and Aaron), going to the pictures, bowling, listening to music of all kind and travelling to different countries. And for me time I love going saunas, steams and creative parties .
What do you enjoy most about the bodybuilding/fitness lifestyle?
Self confidence, the attention I get whether it be bad or good, I love been different. Been able to walk into any place and everywhere turns and look.
Tell me something interesting about yourself, something people may be surprised to hear.
Now I’m known as “she-hulk/beast”, but there was a time not long ago I was referred to as a “whale”. My older son got me into training when he told me when I walk the whole house shakes, I cried my eyes out. But they say now “mummy when you walk, the whole world trembles with fair, because no stands a chance against you”.
What are your competition goals or personal future goals?
I want to win the British Championship for the ladies heavy-weight title, but not just win it I want to make just an impact that no one will ever forget me. Also to carry on training and helping other ladies to live their dream, whether it be to step on stage or into a perfect dress.
